CAS President LU Yongxiang, held talks with Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Wheelchair Foundation Kenneth E. Behring on 18 September, in Beijing.
Prof. Lu, who is also vice chairman of the National People's Congress, appreciated what the Foundation has done for the drinking water safety in China's poverty-stricken areas. He also congratulated the successful initiation of the first pilot site for addressing drinking water safety in China's rural areas, a program jointly supported by the Wheelchair Foundation, China Welfare Fund for the Handicapped and CAS, applauding the move as a result of the common efforts and close collaboration among the three sides. He said that CAS will keep on with the cooperation.
Mr. Behring highly appraised CAS efforts in the cooperation. He expressed his hope that the move would exert influence to win support from all walks of life and make it a long-term and sustainable project as well as a demonstration feat for the other parts of the world.
